Sami is an LA based costume designer for film, music and dance. Her work includes award winning “Night Shift” (Official Sundance 2017) directed by Marshal Tyler, executive produced by Viola Davis’ JUVEE Productions, which screened 70 cities worldwide in the SUNDANCE International Tour, including 33 film festivals. She has also worked with directors Sadé Joseph’s “Knight” which was featured on Spotify, Justice Singleton's “Blacklight” and Nathan Kim's “HumanShapes” series, which included the award winning FAM art film for L.A. Contemporary Dance Company (LACDC). She previously designed for LACDC’s SUMMON, FAM, EBBA, NOMAD.LORE., BLINK, and NYC’s Liz Gerring Dance Co.
Before arriving to LA, Sami worked in NYC as a fashion designer and founded the lingerie line EUCLiD. Sami’s collections have premiered at NYC and Paris fashion weeks and sold internationally. She holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design and studied in Paris specializing in European costume history. Her love for film flourished under her father’s vast collection of 30,000 films. Sami enjoyed interning at the Costume Institute of the MET and was one of the 360 dancers featured in Pharrell Williams’ 24 hour “Happy” music video (@2:08pm/ 14:08h, just saying).
