LACDC SEASON OF GIVING

Date

This past year has been a season of transition and growth for all of us at LA Contemporary Dance Company. We welcomed our community back into the studio for workshops, classes, labs and intensives – collaborated with artists spanning the creative field on new and expansive projects – shared in connection through movement and storytelling across generations and the city.

The next generation of contemporary dancers and choreographers were given the space and time to explore and collaborate in supportive environments. Many of whom were able to do so unencumbered by a financial burden. This year we provided the most scholarships and aide to our creative community than ever before.

We did this under the leadership of our new artistic director, Jamila Glass – supported by an engaged board of directors; our media manager, Danielle King; community action manager, Nicole Hagen; and managing director, Napoleon Gladney. Along with our awe-inspiring company of dancers who have stretched themselves pursuing new teaching, choreographic, designing, styling, and directing opportunities – all because of your support.

This year was not free of its challenges. The ongoing pandemic has changed the ways in which we create and share in our love of dance and like many other small non-profit arts organizations, we are still feeling the effects of last year’s shutdown. Prioritizing access and safety requires more support than we could have imagined.

Now, through December 3, we invite you to join us in our SEASON OF GIVING with a gift of any amount. Your tax-deductible donations will provide scholarships to emerging dance artists and support the creation and presentation of new work to in-person audiences that are representative of this pivotal moment of time. All while ensuring our company of dancers and team are paid for their brilliant work in safe environments.

For your generosity, we have a few ways of saying THANKS!
