Women Rising: Choreography from the Female Perspective

In celebration of the 99th anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote, Brockus Project will present Women Rising: Choreography from the Female Perspective. The evening will pay tribute to women pioneers of modern dance as well as celebrating women choreographers working in Los Angeles today who continue to innovate. Ten groups will perform, including LA Contemporary Dance CompanyJazzAntiquaBlue13, Kitty McNameeLuminario Ballet, Rosanna Gamson/World Wide and more.

Choreographed by artistic director Genevieve Carson, LACDC presents “EBBA,” featuring a phenomenal all female cast of virtuosic Los Angeles-based dancers and original composition by Robert Amjärv.  EBBA is an intimate, bold, and unapologetic investigation of the many layers that exist within the psyche of girls and women, shedding light on how we can ultimately find strength and ownership in our identity as female.  It is one of LACDC's most celebrated pieces of repertoire, has toured internationally and domestically and been performed in a multitude of presenting houses around the world.

Normally performed with a cast of 8, this special performance will have an augmented cast of 11 dancers.  Grab your wine and food and join us under the stars in the Hollywood Hills!

Performances By: Hyosun Choi, Kate Coleman, Jamila Glass, Nicole Hagen, Tess Hewlett, Andrea Sobke, Angel Tyson and guest artists: Olivia Euritt, Nicole Flores, Colleen Hendricks, and Ashlee Merritt
