LACDC Season Of Giving

Date

This year, we are reminding you of the incredible work of L.A. Contemporary Dance Company that you have enabled with your contributions in the past, and see if you will be able to make a year-end gift to the company as part of #givingtuesday.

With the support of our community and generous grants from the L.A. County Organizational Grant Program and the L.A. City Department of Cultural Affairs, we have sustained our operations and creative services for 17 years!  Utilizing individual donations, we accomplished the following in 2022:

  • provided scholarships to both our Winter and Summer Intensive training programs hosting over 60 artists nationally and internationally.
  • produced the work of visiting artist Roderick George at the Odyssey (Los Angeles) and ODC (San Francisco) theaters
  • premiered two works co-commissioned by the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain
  • completed the creative process of "and then life was beautiful" with a film and live performance
  • employed 4 staff members, 7 company members, 6 guest artists, 3 choreographers, and 8 creative collaborators
  • As described in a recent review by Jeff Slayton of the LA Dance Chronicle:

"L.A. Contemporary Dance Company (LACDC) has come back stronger than ever. With three world premieres on the program, Artistic Director Jamila Glass has guided the company to greater heights of professionalism. The work presented was powerful and the cast is probably one of the strongest since LACDC was co-founded in 2005 by Kate Hutter Mason."

Please consider a tax-deductible contribution for #givingtuesday, or anytime before the end of the year!  Your contributions are deeply impactful and empower us to serve the community with our artistic programming.

Thank you so much for your consideration as we know there are many worthy organizations out there to contribute to - we are deeply grateful for your support.
