Join LACDC's run to $20K in support of contemporary dance's transformative power!
We are so happy to welcome the return of March Madness, our annual fundraiser where we set out to raise $20,000 in 31 days. This year is unlike any other due to the fact that we have not been able to share space together for live events, productions and classes – since we all began to shelter in place in mid-March of last year. The extended pause of live engagement has been challenging, but has not stopped us from creating impactful shared experiences for our community virtually.
If you have been following LACDC this past year, we have shifted our programming online with new curated collaborations with visual artists, critically acclaimed dance film releases, and virtual adaptations of our intensives and shared learning opportunities. With the transition of Jamila Glass, our new Artistic Director, we continue to seek out innovative ways to create and share dance safely while within the restrictions of the pandemic and beyond.
We want to utilize this unique opportunity to honor our dancers, choreographers, board members, leadership, and collaborators that have been re-imagining what dance can be within our community. Show your support with a one-time gift or join some of our most vital supporters by becoming a recurring donor with a more frequent gift.
Every dollar directly supports the pay of our dancers for their incredible contributions to this artform; provides the resources for us to create new work with collaborators; and facilitates shared learning experiences with our community. This year’s $20,000 goal will be matched by the Hutter family in memory of dancer and producer Norma Langworthy. Aka, you give $150 and $300 goes to LACDC's artists and programs.
Any gift, of any amount will leave a lasting impact as we continue to champion the transformative power of an artistic experience, and seek to engage, educate, perform for, and connect with all people.
This year, we raised $20,023 with a $20,000 match by the Hutter family in memory of dancer and producer Norma Langworthy. That means over $40,000 raised for the artists of LACDC. Stay tuned for the final donor count. THANK YOU!
