DANCE PREHAB x LACDC WORKSHOPS

PHYSICAL THERAPY SERIES

LACDC expands the scope of its workshops and educational programming to address the needs of the dance community in health and wellness with a new workshop series partnering with Dance Prehab Physical Therapy. The monthly workshop series will consist of an engaging and hands-on group class filled with supported individual and partner exercises lead by a team of physical therapists that focuses on different areas of the body. The class is followed by one-on-one breakout sessions and consultations that allow for more in depth and personalized attention and support with a physical therapist.

  • WORKSHOP SERIES OBJECTIVES:
  • Participants will be able to understand and recall biomechanical principles and key musculature involved with trunk/upper/lower extremity mobility and stability in static and dynamic activities.
  • Participants will demonstrate appropriate progressions of warm-up and  strengthening exercises for safe dance practices and conditioning in the educational and professional environment.
  • These workshops are geared towards professional and pre-professional dancers,  instructors, educators, and dance students alike, to raise awareness for proper instruction, warm up progressions, and solutions for injury risk reduction in rehearsal and performance.
