Originally from New Jersey and raised as a gymnast in California, Ryan Ruiz started his dance training at the age of 17. His thirst for learning relocated him to Los Angeles to pursue dance as a career. He continued his studies honing his craft and artistry at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy receiving his Bachelors in Fine Arts in Dance Theatre. Upon receiving his BFA, he trained under an esteemed faculty including Tracy Silver, Genevieve Carson, Donyelle Jones, Nicole Berger, Yusuf Nasir, Tiffany Billings, and Hassan Christopher. He is trained in ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, as well as voice and tumbling.

Ryan has been with LA Contemporary Dance Company since 2014 as a guest performer and company member. While dancing with LACDC, he has worked within the commercial industry dancing/choreographing for artists such as Diplomacy, Jeff Waters and Loud Forest as well as competing as a choreographer on Choreo Cage Fight hosted by Tinashe. He has also had the honor to work with a number of accomplished choreographers such as Daniel Ezralow (Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony, Across The Universe, Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark) in his production of Pearl at Lincoln Center in New York, Adam Parson, Mecca Vazie Andrews, Rosalynde LeBlanc, Kate Hutter, Kevin Williamson, and Rebecca Pappas. 

Currently Ryan is on faculty at Orange County School of the Arts as a teacher and choreographer. He has his own throw pillow business called Tapered Nomad and is a certified heated indoor cycling instructor at Sweat Cycle. He is delighted to be moving, dancing, collaborating, and laughing with these crazy fools and so many other great artists in Los Angeles.
