Andrew Pearson

Andrew Pearson is the founder and facilitator of Contemporary Dance Practice: LA.  He received his training from the University of California, Irvine where he studied intensively under Loretta Livingston and Donald McKayle and has continued his professional training in Los Angeles with workshops and classes from some of Los Angeles’s most influential educators including Rosanna Gamson, Holly Johnston, John Pennington, Kate Hutter, and Maria Gillespie. 

Andrew has danced with companies including BodyTraffic, Clairobscure, String Theory, LollieWorks, and The Union Project Dance Company.  He has been with the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company since 2011,  where he has been given the opportunity to work with numerous Los Angeles-based contemporary choreographers.  Andrew has also worked in many theatre productions, a gallery exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, and in front of the camera with appearances that include the Disney Channel and a video installation for music artist ZHU, premiering at Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival. Andrew has continued his work around the world, taking workshops and professional classes in London, Holland, Berlin, and Melbourne, and with performances in Paris and Malaga, Spain. 

Andrew is also a sought after teacher, having taught guest classes nationally and internationally, and is on the roster of teachers for professional companies such as Diavolo and the LA Contemporary Dance Company and has served on faculty for Orange County School of the Arts, The Wooden Floor, California State University, Channel Islands, Nuevo School of Contemporary Dance, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Arts Collective.  As a choreographer Andrew is actively creating and touring his solo work, and has been commissioned by many schools and companies.
