2ND ANNUAL SUMMER INTENSIVE

Get ready for LACDC's 2nd Annual Summer Intensive! - July 19-30, 2010! Last year's intensive welcomed students from across the USA, Australia, England, Japan, & Argentina. Check out the video from last year's intensive shot and edited by company member Jamila Glass.

This year's pre-professional and professional program includes classes in contemporary modern and jazz technique, improvisation, composition, body conditioning, and the opportunity to develop new work and learn LACDC repertory with Artistic Director, Kate Hutter, and LACDC company members.

We have a great line-up of GUEST FACULTY including:

and other amazing L.A. based dance artists and instructors still TBA.

Weekly Schedule (Monday – Friday):
10:00 – 12:00 || Technique Class
12:30 – 2:30 || Choreography / Repertory Workshop
2:30 – 4:00 || Special Topic: improvisation, composition, body conditioning, etc.

The 2 week program will culminate in a Studio Performance where excerpts of LACDC’s repertory, student compositions and new choreography will be performed by the students of the intensive for friends, family and the general public.

ONLY 50 SPOTS AVAILABLE!
The program is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, so act quickly! No audition is required.

Tuition must be paid IN FULL to complete your registration and reserve your place in the program. You will receive an email confirming your place in the program once both your registration and payment is received.

Prices: (if registered and paid BEFORE May 1, 2010)
Full intensive = $300
1 week = $200

Prices: (if registered and paid AFTER May 1, 2010)
Full intensive = $350
1 week = $250

**If an unforeseen conflict arises and you must drop out of the program, you will be refunded 100% of your tuition if your place is forfeited before July 1st, 2010 and 50% of your tuition if forfeited after this date. We will create a waitlist of those students interested in the program, and will fill all vacated spots based on this waitlist.**

Please note that housing and transportation is the responsibility of the student. We are happy to provide housing and transportation recommendations upon request.

In addition, AUDITIONS will be held for LACDC’s 2010 / 2011 season on Saturday, July 24 from 10am – 2pm. Anyone interested in LACDC is welcome to attend!

AUDITIONS

LACDC will be holding auditions for our 2010/2011 season on Saturday, July 24 from 10am-2pm. We are looking for dancers who have a strong background in contemporary modern, jazz and/or ballet with experience in partnering and improvisation. Paid performances occur throughout the year, and LACDC is always looking for new talent to hire for performances and engage in new creative processes.

There is an audition fee of $20. Pre-registration is not required.

Registration and warm-up begins at 9:30am; Please bring a photo and resume.
Callbacks will occur the week of July 26 - July 30, 2010.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

LACDC is a non-profit organization that relies on the generosity of our volunteers to keep producing work. If you are interested in volunteering with LACDC please email us at info@lacontemporarydance.org.

Opportunities include: house management, event planning, mailings, auditions support, and much more!

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently accepting resumes and portfolios of choreographers, composers and other collaborative artists interested in working with LACDC in the upcoming seasons.  Please send all materials to the address below.  Thank you!

For choreographers:
Please send a resume, a 5 – 10 minute video of recent work and an artistic statement describing a work you are interested in creating with LACDC.  Or, if you have a previously constructed piece you would like us to consider to be set on the company as part of our repertoire, please include this on the video as well as a short description of the work.

For composers:
Please send a resume, a sample CD of recent work and a short description of how you would like to collaborate with LACDC including any ideas you may already have.

For visual artists and multi-media artists:
Please send a resume and a sample of your work (portfolio, photos, DVD, etc.) and a short description of how you would like to collaborate with LACDC including any ideas you may already have.
