Kate Andrews

LACDC | Kate Andrews

Kate Andrews was born and raised in Salinas, CA, where she began dancing at the age of 5. She has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and hip-hop. She spent summers at the Rock School in 2005 and The American Dance Festival in 2010. Kate has had the privilege of working with choreographers Stefanie Batten Bland, Prue Lang, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Susan McLain, Marie de la Palme, Erica Jeffrey, Lorin Johnson, Fran Spector-Atkins, and Christina Romero. In 2010, she performed at the American College Dance Festival Association Southwest Regional Conference in Tempe, Arizona, where she was selected to perform her solo, “Greener Pastures”, in the Gala. She was the recipient of the CSULB Dance Department scholarship for two years and of the Dramatic Allied Arts Guild scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year. This past summer, she attended New York Dance International for four weeks in Paris, France, dancing and choreographing. Kate also dances with Nickerson-Rossi Dance in Long Beach, CA. She is excited for her first year with L.A. Contemporary Dance Company!
