At the age of 20, Athena has traveled throughout the states and internationally dancing. During her Middle and High School years, Athena won soloist awards in prestigious dance competitions including Music Center Spotlight Awards, Showbiz National competitions and Starpower, and is a recipient of dance scholarships and merit awards such as the Dance Spirit Magazine “Future Star of the year”, and American Hall of Fame. Spotlight Awards director Jeri Gale invited her to perform as a soloist dancer in Venice, Turkey, and Greece. She has also toured Canada with Coastal Dance Rage Co. under the direction of choreographers Shannon Mather and Blake Mcgrath. In 2010, Athena attended Alvin Ailey in New York City. After a year at Ailey, Athena came back to California where she performed at the 2011 VMA’s. Athena has also worked as a model for Champion and Nike national print campaign and has appeared in several dance TV shows from Univision to CBS. Currently, Athena teaches at Nuevo School of Contemporary dance and is a company member of the LA Contemporary Dance Company.
