THE COMPANY
COMPANY MEMBERS:
PAULO ALCEDO
Paulo Alcedo was born and raised in the central Philippines. He trained under Douglas Nierras of the Powerdance Company with whom he won the 10th Saitama Worldwide Modern Dance Competition in Saitama, Japan. He moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and was honored with an EDGE scholarship (2002-2003). Paulo has danced in numerous dance companies in Los Angeles including Hysterica Dance Company, (Kitty McNamme/Ryan Heffington), Commonality Dance Company (Adam Parson), Collage Dance Theatre (Heidi Duckler), Strange Company (Hassan Christopher), and Rosanna Gamson Worldwide. He performed in "Mass", with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in the 2004 Hollywood Bowl season. Paulo is co-Artistic director with Meredith Flores for the EXPOSE Theatre Dance Company and is also very active in the Filipino Community, performing and teaching dance. Paulo was recently chosen to be a part of the new movie INDIANA JONES produced by Steven Spielberg and will be touring with the first Filipino-American Musical opera, Karim at Jasmin where he is the director/choreographer. Paulo was part of the BCAM show of the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company and is very thrilled again to be a part of this spring season.

MICHAEL CROTTY
Michael Crotty is from the land of cow-tipping and cornhole. This is Michael's first season with the LACDC, and he is stoked to be working with such a diverse and inspiring group. Michael began his dance training in the states at The Ohio State University where received his BFA. He also studied under scholarship at the American Dance Festival and the Alvin Ailey school. He then continued his studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands where he earned his diploma. There he had the pleasure to work with Isabelle Chauffeud and Jerome Meyer of NDT and the Batsheva Dance Company of Israel. His venture back to states has been both exciting in bringing him to Los Angeles and close again to his family and roots.
DEVIN FULTON
Devin Fulton has been a dancing' fool since the tender age of 3. At 17 she became a company member of State Street Ballet and later a principal dancer with Plexus Dance Theatre. After completing her featured role in Santa Barbara's very popular Toxique
A Love Fever, she moved to Los Angeles and performed as lead dancer on the WB's Angel. In the summer of 2003, Devin received a scholarship to Edge Performing Arts Center. Upon graduation from this program, she decided to stay in Los Angeles to pursue her love of company work. Devin is a returning member of the L.A. Contemporary Dance Company. She also performs with the Joseph Allen Decker Dance Company and Commonality Dance Co.
JAMILA GLASS
Jamila Glass joined the company in 2005 as an originating member. She began her formal training as a nine-year-old scholarship student at The Discovery Dance Group in Houston, Texas. She continued dancing in her spare time as a voice major at the multi-Grammy award-winning High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. In May 2005, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Cinema-Television (Film & Video Production) and a Minor in Advertising. While there, she was a member of the USC School of Theatre's award-winning Repertory Dance Company, where she choreographed for three years. Glass, also a director/screenwriter, currently works in the film and television industry in post production and has a growing business called The Cutting Room where she does freelance film and video editing. www.thecuttingroompost.com.
NATALIE HURTER
Natalie Hurter danced herself right out of the womb. Is it strange to dance so soon? Eventually she discovered modern dance at Riverside Community College and later, under the mentorship of many wonderful instructors, went on to achieve a B.A. in Dance from California State University at Long Beach. While attending CSULB, her original choreography "Change Font to Wingding" was selected for performance at the American College Dance Festival. She lives in Long Beach with her boyfriend Joshua and a very loquacious cat. Natalie enjoys teaching Pilates and dancing her dream everyday. She's been a company member of LACDC for the last year.
MARISA JIMENEZ
Marisa Jimenez was born and raised by her loving parents Tony and Laurin Jimenez in San Antonio, Texas. She is blessed to have two beautiful older sisters Toni and Mei-Lon Jimenez. Marisa graduated from Thomas Jefferson Fine Arts High School in 2002 and went on to receive her B.A. in Dance and a minor in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University in 2006. She is honored to have worked with Judy Scalin, Lorreta Livingston, Regina Klenjoski, Holly Johnston, Christopher Hassan, Kirsten Smiarowski and now with LACDC.
NICHOL MASON
Nichol Mason is a native of Westminster, California, began her dance training at the age of 6 at a local dance studio. It wasn't until college did she find her love for modern dance and choreography, recently graduating from Cal State University of Long Beach with a BFA in Dance. Her choreography has also been presented by the Panurgy Dance Project and Holly Johnston's Emerging Above Ground Festival. Her goals are to produce more of her own work as well as to pursue a career in modern dance and international performance. Nichol currently lives in Long Beach and teaches pilates. She is thrilled to be dancing with the LA Contemporary Dance Company and feels lucky every day to be in a profession where work feels like play and play is just icing on the cake.
TIFFANY SWEAT
Tiffany Sweat was born and raised in the southeast, Tiffany's hunger for exquisite movement, passionate creators and meaningful performance led her across the country to Southern California. In 2006 she received her BFA in Dance from the University of Georgia. During her study she danced with CORE Concert Dance Company under the direction of Bala Sarasrati. While with CORE, she performed extensively throughout the States, including St. Mark's Church in NY and the Kennedy Center in D.C., as well as internationally. Tiffany is thrilled to be continuing her career and education and proud to be surrounded by the people, creativity, talent and energy of LACDC.
CRISTINE DIANA TATOMER
Cristine Tatomer was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Starting her ballet training at five, she graduated from Mikal Casalino School of Creative Arts in 1994. She then took a ten year hiatus from formal training. During this time she worked in the fashion industry, started collecting vinyl, and DJd at clubs and parties. Cristine had found a new meaning in movement and by 2003 she was teaching ballet again, tiptoing her way back into the dance world. She dances regularly with Vaughn Dance Company and her own collective DLM (Dance Love Music). Cristine is deeply thankful to be dancing in Los Angeles and is proud to be a spark in this radiant community.
KEVIN WILLIAMSON
Kevin Williamson graduated from UCLA with a BA in World Arts & Cultures in 2004. He has studied and performed with progressive ensembles TanzAtelierWien in Vienna, Austria and David Gordon's Pick Up Performance Co. in New York City. Last year he performed in the world premiere of Julie Taymor's "Grendel" for the LA Opera, choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj and was a guest artist for the cirque-vaudeville ensemble Lucent Dossier at the Lightening in a Bottle Festival in Santa Barbara, CA. Other credits include performances for the AIDS Benefit Food for Thought at Danspace, Gypsy Folk Ensemble, HIghways Festival of Student Work, and ABS-CBN Television at the Rose Bowl. Commercial projects inqclude TV/Video works directed by Fatima Robinson, John Landis, and Michael Rooney for MTV, PBS, and NBC. Currently he is a member of Maria Gillespie's Oni Dance and LA Contemporary Dance Co. His goal is to continue his research in real-time composition and the fragility of structured improvisation in performance.
